“For years, Sophie Koella or better known as Sofii, existed between worlds. A successful model moving through the machinery of fashion, a DJ immersed in club culture, and more importantly a songwriter carrying stories she had not yet found the courage to tell.

When LOVEWANT first photographed Koella in Iceland, there was already a sense, she was searching for a more personal language. Now, with a new record arriving later this year, that language has finally arrived. The electronic textures of her earlier work have given way to something more exposed: More organic, acoustic, emotional and perhaps more direct.
Songs about family, forgiveness, self doubt and universally, the difficult process of learning who you are when the versions of yourself that once worked no longer do.”
